Skilled craftswomen employed by Malaika Linens carefully craft these tablecloths by hand. Due to the time-intensive handmade process, each tablecloth is a unique labor of love. No two tablecloths are exactly alike.

Margarita Andrade and Goya Gallagher are the founders of Malaika Linens. In 2004 in Cairo, Egypt, Andrade and Gallagher opened their business and began producing high-quality bed linens with Egyptian cotton. In 2009, Malaika built its own factory and had 60 craftswomen employed there. Then, in 2018, Andrade and Gallagher opened their own embroidery school. The entrepreneurs are committed to empowering local women by teaching them the craft of hand-embroidery. Once women are skilled in the craft of sewing, they leave the school and become artisans who work at home or at Malaika's factory.
