Step 1: Begin by preparing the flowers.  If a flower does not have a long stem, for example orchids, create a longer stem using floral wire and tape.  Cut the flower head, with as much of the stem as you can, from the larger flower spray.  Use a floral wire with a low number gauge (16-20) for support. Fold the floral wire in half so it is roughly 9" long.  Hold the wire to the stem left on the flower head and attach the stem to the wire by wrapping it with floral tape.  Wrap the wire completely to the end for a clean look.

Step 2: Bundle together the flowers with the largest blooms (peonies) in one hand.

Step 3: Begin adding the medium blooms (roses) and the smaller blooms (orchids).

Step 4: Mix the colors throughout the bouquet, for example, add a coral colored rose in between two pink peonies to break it up and add dimension.

Step 6: When you are ready to finish your bouquet, bind the stems together with twine or floral tape.  Trim the stems so that they are even.  Wrap the stems with a ribbon for a polished look.
