Choose Your Flowers
For this look, we chose artificial lilac stems in ivory cream. Feel free to get creative with other colors or blooms if you feel they match your wedding decor better. After all, DIY wedding flowers should be fun and get your creative juices flowing! View your other options for spring flowers for DIY wedding decor here and sort by color.
We went for a simple, monochromatic look with the cream lilac. The included greenery from this stem is a great way to incorporate some added color and freshness without having to purchase any additional stems. If you're a DIY bride on a budget, this faux bouquet might be the one for you!
With your floral tape handy from your Afloral Essentials Kit, start by grabbing your first stem to act as the base of your floral arrangement. Hold the flowers away from you so you can get a good view of what the bouquet looks like from all angles.
Continue adding your faux lilac stems around your base and rotate. Once you have 3-4 stems in place, secure the bouquet with some floral tape. Keep adding your stems until you're happy with the fullness of your bouquet.
Trim the greenery off of any inner stems that look crowded. Fluff the leaves on the outer stems until you achieve the look you want. The best part about arranging with faux flowers is that you can work and re-work the flowers without worrying about compromising the florals. Once you're happy with how the flowers look, secure one last time around the outside with floral tape.
Add the finishing touch with a classic white ribbon, or whatever your chosen wedding colors may be. Feel free to incorporate any other decorative pieces you might have in addition, like memorial charms or decorative jewelry.
Recreate these same bouquets for your bridesmaids with the same stems in a smaller version or a different color. This classic white wedding flower bouquet in a smaller version would be the perfect accent to your bridal bouquet, or browse our other selection of faux wedding flowers and get creative!
