Choose Your Artificial Greenery and Vase
Get started by choosing a few simple artificial greenery stems. For this arrangement, we chose the Real Touch Norfolk Pine Branch for our main stem and accented the arrangement with two types of artificial juniper stems and an artificial cedar pick. To achieve the perfect Christmas greenery centerpiece, we wanted to incorporate many different shades of green and different textures.
Since this arrangement was intended for placement on a dining room table or to be used as a centerpiece we wanted a low and elegant profile so we chose this distressed gold compote.
Create a Base for the Arrangement
Now that you've chosen your vase and greenery stems, it's time to build your arrangement! Start by creating a chicken wire ball by trimming off a section and shaping it into a small ball. Place the ball into the compote bowl and secure it with clear grid tape. Once your base is in place and feels secure, you can start adding in your branches.
Establish a Shape for the Arrangement
Our designer chose to start with the artificial juniper stems with faux berries to create the shape for this centerpiece. Alternate placing the stems from side to side and back to back so that they sit evenly around the compote bowl. If your stems are too long, use floral shears or wire cutters.
Next, build out the arrangement with your other holiday greenery stems. Rotate the arrangement frequently to fill in any spots that may be empty. Save your taller greenery stems for last so that you can incorporate height and dimension.
Feeling festive? Incorporate artificial red berries to create color contrast, or you can add artificial red poinsettias for a traditional Christmas feel. Whatever you choose, this Christmas greenery centerpiece will be perfect for your dining table and will complete the look for your holiday decor!
Take a step away from your arrangement and come back with fresh eyes. Rotate and rearrange where necessary. To complete your holiday tablescape, add tall candles and your best holiday serveware.
