Combine preserved and artificial florals to create a boutonnière that will stay forever fresh.

Materials: Preserved wheat, billy buttons, lavender, artificial hops, floral wire, floral tape, ribbon, and scissors or wire cutters.

Step 1: To prepare the artificial hops for the boutonnière you will need to remove the individual hops from the stem.
Step 2: Attach the hops to the floral wire with floral tape.

Step 3: Cut the wire with wire cutters so that it is about 4" long. Set aside.

Step 4: If you are using wheat with long tips you will need to cut it down to the head. Then trim the stem so that it is approximately 4" long. Set aside.

Step 5: Continue trimming each of the dried stems so that they are all approximately 4" long.

Step 6: Bundle together all of your stems and wrap with floral tape to secure.

Step 7: Cover the floral tape with a decorative ribbon. Leave about 3" of ribbon at the top of the boutonnière and hold there.
Step 8: Pull the length of the ribbon to the bottom of the stems and begin wrapping the ribbon up the stems until you get to the flower heads.

Step 9: Tie the two ribbon ends in a knot under the flower heads.

Step 10: Trim the ribbon ends so that they are the same length.
Step 11: Trim the floral stems so that they are even.

These boutonnières will last as long as silk so they can be made long before your wedding day. The last thing you will need to do is attach to a lapel with a pearl ended pin on the big day!
