Follow this simple tutorial to learn how to create a floral arrangement in three different ways. You will discover how to make a centerpiece using a floral tape grid, floral foam and floral wire netting.
Materials:
Silk Flowers
Artificial Greenery
Vases
Floral Tape
Floral Foam
Wire Netting
Tape Gride
Step 1: Using sticky floral tape, create a grid on the opening of your container.
Step 2: Add your favorite faux flowers, inserting the stems into the holes the grid creates..
You may need to trim the wire stems of the flowers before you create your arrangement so they fit in the vase. Use wire cutters to cut the stems.
Step 3: Add greenery between the flower heads to break up the colors and add texture.
Dry Floral Foam
Step 1: Cut the floral foam to fit the opening of the vase. You can use a simple kitchen knife to easily cut through the foam.
Step 2: Push the foam into the opening of the vase. You may need to cut pieces of the foam brick to completely fill the container.
Step 3: Begin pushing flowers into the floral foam. Start at the center with the larger flowers and work your way out in a circular pattern.
If the foam is not fitting snugly into your container, glue the foam to the bottom of the container to keep it in place.
Step 3: Fill in any spaces between the larger blooms with smaller flowers and greenery. Thus completely covering the foam. Because silk flowers have a wire stem, you can move and bend them to create a more natural look.
Wire Netting
Step 1: Depending on the size of the vase, cut about a one foot square piece of wire netting, using wire cutters.
Step 2: Carefully shape the wire netting to fit inside the vase.
Step 3: Begin adding the florals, inserting the stems through the holes in the wire netting.
Step 4: When you are happy with the fullness of your arrangement, add the greenery, pushing the stems between the flower heads to break up the color.
